Why families choose Playful English

Every child is placed by assessment, taught in a small group, and tracked with real evidence — not guesswork.

Groups of six, never more

Every child speaks in every lesson. No one hides at the back, no one waits their turn for ten minutes.

Placement by assessment

A short, friendly conversation decides the starting level — not the child's school year or a guess.

Lessons children look forward to

Games, stories, role-play and real tasks. Confidence first, corrections second.

Parents always in the loop

A lesson summary after every session, homework in the portal, attendance and progress you can actually read.

Real skills, not only marks

Speaking, listening, reading and writing are tracked separately, so a strong reader who freezes when speaking gets the right help.

One teacher who knows your child

The same teacher every week, following the same plan, remembering what worked last month.

Levels are ours, but they map to CEFR so a report means something outside our classroom. Every child is placed by assessment and re-checked each term.

What parents say

“She went from hiding behind me at parents' evening to reading out loud in front of the class. Same child, six months.”
— Parent of a 9-year-old
“The weekly summary is the thing. I finally know what he is learning instead of asking 'how was English?' and getting 'fine'.”
— Parent of an 11-year-old
“We tried a big after-school class first. Six children in the room is a completely different lesson.”
— Parent of two students

Questions parents ask first

+How do you decide my child's level?

With a short placement assessment — about 20 minutes, more conversation than test. We check listening, speaking, reading and writing separately and place your child by the results, not by school year.

+What if my child is shy or has struggled with English at school?

That is most of the children who come to us. Small groups, no public correction and a teacher who knows the child are exactly what changes it. Many parents notice a difference in confidence before they notice a difference in marks.

+How big are the groups?

Six children maximum, usually four or five, grouped by level and age so no child is stranded.

+What happens if we miss a lesson?

Report the absence in the parent portal at least 24 hours ahead and you receive a make-up credit, which can be used in another group or a short private session.

+Do you follow the school curriculum?

We cover it and go past it. School material is supported directly — grammar, vocabulary, reading and writing — but the lesson is built around using English, not only passing it.
